Overview

Flowerdrum Palace, located on 54 Queen Street in Campbelltown, NSW, offers a solid experience for lovers of Chinese cuisine seeking familiar flavors alongside some beloved dim sum classics. This restaurant is a notable spot for those who appreciate traditional dishes like Steamed Seafood Dim Sim, Taro Dumplings, and San Choy Bow, which showcase a balance of texture and flavor that pleases most palates. The Combination Chow Mein and Satay Chicken stand out as hearty, well-prepared mains suitable for diners looking for comfort food with a hint of authenticity.

The ambiance is casual and welcoming, fitting well with the diverse local community and families who enjoy sharing meals in a lively, no-fuss environment. Service throughout tends to be prompt and friendly, adding to the overall positive dining experience. Many patrons, such as those who have sampled dishes like Mongolian Beef and Chicken Chow Mein, appreciate the moist proteins and well-rounded seasonings, signaling consistent kitchen standards.

Flowerdrum Palace shines especially with its yum cha offerings, praised as the best in the area, which is meaningful given the limited options nearby. These smaller plates provide a great way to experience a variety of tastes in a single visit. The subtle packaging detail noted in the honey chicken takeaway shows a thoughtful approach to preserving the texture of dishes — a nice touch for those ordering delivery or takeaway.

There are occasional misses, such as the deep-fried whole fish, which some have found less satisfying in texture and freshness. Such moments do not overshadow the overall positive reviews but remind visitors to choose their dishes with care. The restaurant is still awaiting a liquor license, so guests often bring their own drinks, with a modest corkage fee applied.

In summary, Flowerdrum Palace caters well to locals who want authentic, tasty Chinese food in a relaxed setting without pretense. It is particularly suited to families and groups looking for traditional fare and dim sum experiences in Campbelltown, with friendly service and generous portions rounding out a dependable dining choice.

The Yum Cha was YUMMMMM. I will say this is the best yumcha place in the area (even though there are only 2 places that offers Yumcha around here) . Definately coming back for yumcha !! Price and portion was reasonable. Main course was average. Ordered the sweet and sour pork (average, hugh portion), BBQ pork chow mein (average taste , normal portion). Only negative point - DON'T ORDER WHOLE FISH. We ordered deep fried Founder ($35) , fish was probably frozen and the batter was hard on the outside and not cooked on the inside. (Too disappointed to even take a photo) Overall was good and will come back. Just need to remember not to order fish

Came in for dinner, and overall, the food and service were quite good. All the dishes were flavorful, and the proteins were moist. I had the stir fried soy chicken, stir fried chicken with cashews, and roast chicken, among other items. The customer service was excellent, and the food was served in a reasonable time given the number of tables being attended to. Overall, the food was comparable to most other Chinese restaurants, nothing tasted bad.

Awesome food, a little bit pricey but worth it if you want something nice. Not yet licensed so BYO Booze while they wait for the license to come through. They charge corkage at $2 a beer which I think they should waiver until they get their license. Overall a great dining experience, I recommend and will also eat there again myself. The soft shell crab was tasty

Bought honey chicken over uber and it hit the spot. They are also thoughtful enough to package the chicken and sauce separately for your own mixing so that the chicken stays crispy. Good stuff.

We've tried almost all the Chinese restaurants around the area and this is the only one that meets or even exceeds our expectations. The others out there are too bland and too pricey. Always an excellent experience everytime we visit.
